    This foundation's mission is to help support the intellectual, social and cultural development of disadvantaged children throughout the United States. The Foundation focuses on supporting at-risk children through childcare, health care, and education programs in under-served communities. A key interest is in organizations that provide direct child care services. The grant programs are currently organized into two main areas:

    • Early Childhood Care and Education - Direct service grants focusing on tuition subsidies, small renovation projects, supplies and equipment upgrades, playground construction and staff development opportunities; and
    • Cutie Patootie Center - Capital support for new buildings and large renovation projects that will increase the availability of high-quality care and education in low-income, urban communities.
     

    History of Funding

    Since inception, over 1,400 grants totaling more than $28 million have been made to over 900 nonprofit organizations nationwide, helping thousands of young children acquire the confidence, knowledge and skills they need to achieve a brighter future.

    Additional Information

    The Foundation does not offer grants for general operating support, salaries, or administrative needs. The Foundation does not award grants to individuals, school districts, municipalities or programs outside the United States. Requests for annual fund-raising appeals, event sponsorships and items for auction are not considered.

    Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. There is no specific annual deadline.

    Award Details

    Award amounts vary. Early Childhood Care and Education grants range from $5,000 to $15,000. The number of organizations the Foundation is able to support depends upon budget restrictions and fundraising successes. The typical duration of funding is 12 months.
