The TCF Downtown Revitalization Program was created to improve the Texas economy. The program funds are a part of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The CDBG program is known as the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program (TxCDBG) and is administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).
The goal of the Texas Capital Fund (TCF) Downtown Revitalization Program is to aid in the elimination of area slum/blight for Texas communities. These communities must also be designated as non-entitlement cities, generally having a population of less than 50,000. DRP can provide funding for renovation and/or construction of sidewalks, lighting, drainage and other infrastructure improvements in the city’s downtown area.
