    The foundation supports non-profit organizations that aim to improve the quality of life in communities where Plum Creek Operates. The foundation supports the following areas: (1) Community organizations that improve the quality of life and provide services that might now otherwise be available to residents in the communities where Plum Creek operates; (2) Educational programs and organizations that enhance learning experiences for students of all ages and help kids become self sufficient and productive within their communities; (3) Organizations that promote environmental stewardship and awareness as well as those that teach environmental education; and, (4) organizations that creatively deliver quality arts and performance programs. The following is typically not supported: (1) Salaries, stipends and other forms of compensation; (2) Religious organizations for religious purposes; (3) War veterans and fraternal service organizations; (4) United Ways and operating expense requests from United Way-funded organizations; (5) National health organizations and programs, including local chapters; (6) Endowments or scholarships. Grants or loans to individuals; (8) Fund-raising events, i.e., tickets, dinners, telethons; (9) Corporate memberships or contributions to Chambers of Commerce, taxpayer associations, and other organizations whose activities are expected to directly benefit Plum Creek; (10) Political organizations, campaigns, and candidates; and, (11) Donations of land.

    In FY10, Plum Creek Foundation awarded over $1.4 million in grants to communities across the United States.

    The Foundation support public entities – city, town, school, fire dept., etc. as well as Non-profit organizations that are located in communities where Plum Creek operates are eligible to apply. Plum Creek operates in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, New Hampshire, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, and, Wisconsin.     Deadline Details

    The foundation has quarterly deadlines each year. In FY11 the deadlines were January 31, 2011, and, April 29, 2011. The FY11 third quarter deadline is July 29, 2011. The FY11 fourth quarter deadline was October 31, 2011. Similar deadlines are anticipated annually.

    Award Details

    Award amounts vary. Typical awards are less than $5,000 but an applicant may apply for up to $10,000.
